The Way of the Five-Toed Sloth: Slowing Down to See More

Most People Travel Like Cheetas, We Prefer The Way of the Sloth

Evolution gave the sloth two or three toes, but our family is tackling life with five! Welcome to The Way of the Five-Toed Sloth, where the 'Fast Lane' is a foreign concept and the goal of every adventure is to see how much we can discover by being more intentional and stopping enough to enjoy the moment.

Five Steps to Becoming a Five-Toed Sloth

1. Move Slow Spend twice as long in one spot as you think you "should." Nature is a master of camouflage; if you rush, you’ll miss the tiny miracles hiding in plain sight. Slowing down turns a simple walk into a treasure hunt.

2. Look Up Sloths spend their lives in the canopy, and the best views often require a tilt of the chin. Whether it’s a sprawling Guanacaste tree, a colorful Macaw, or a sleeping sloth, don’t forget to see what’s happening above you.

3. Low Impact Leave no trace, just like a sloth in the trees. Costa Rica is a world leader in sustainability and environmental awareness, and we honor that by ensuring the trails stay as green and pristine as we found them.

4. Embrace the Hang Prioritize connection over "checking boxes." Real adventure isn't found in a frantic itinerary; it’s found in the quiet moments spent with loved ones and the deep dive into local culture. Remember: the "hang" is the highlight.

5. Steady Progress You don’t have to be fast to go far. Life isn't a race to the finish line, and neither is an adventure. Every slow, steady step counts, and the most meaningful journeys are the ones where we actually remember the way.
